  • Fire pits

Round or square block fire pits with a steel insert, on the patio or on their own stone pad.

  • Seating walls

Low block walls with smooth caps, around the fire pit or along the edge of the patio.

  • Grill counters

Block counters built around a grill and tied into the patio.

  • Pergolas

How a fire pit goes in

A fire pit is a small build, but the spot and the base still matter.

Fire pit being built: two courses of block around a steel ring on a finished paver patio
  1. Pick the spotClear of property lines, the house and anything that burns. In Cherry Hill that means 20 feet from the lines and 15 feet from buildings, decks and fences.
  2. Level baseCrushed stone is compacted so the ring sits level and drains.
  3. Block and insertFire pit block is glued course by course around a steel ring that takes the heat.
  4. Finish around itA seating wall, a patio or a gravel circle, so the chairs sit flat.
