Landscape Design & Installation in Cherry Hill, NJ
Beds, shrubs, trees and edging planned with the stonework so the whole yard fits together, from twin brothers Jakub and Karol Miklus.
What we plant
Beds, shrubs, trees and edging planned with the stonework so the whole yard fits together.

Foundation beds
New beds along the front of the house, with shrubs that stay in scale with the windows.
Trees and screening
Shade trees, and evergreen rows along a fence line for privacy.
Edging
A clean edge between the beds and the lawn, so the mower and the mulch stay where they belong.
Planting around new stonework
Beds planned with a new patio, walkway or wall, so they go in together.
From plan to planting
Most of a new bed is decided before anything goes in the ground.

- Walk the yardWe look at sun, shade and wet spots with you, and what you see from the windows.
- Prepare the bedsOld turf and weeds come out, and the soil is turned and loosened.
- Set out and plantPlants are set out in their spots first, then planted at the right depth and watered in.
- Mulch and edgeMulch goes down at an even depth, pulled back from the stems, and the edge is cut.
Good to know before you plant
Cherry Hill's tree rules, and planting advice from Rutgers.
Tree removal permit
Cherry Hill requires a permit to remove, or trim more than 30% of, a tree 5 inches or more in trunk diameter, including on private land.
Fall planting
Rutgers notes that fall planting gives most trees and shrubs an extra growing season to settle in.
Smaller plants
Rutgers advises that smaller plants adapt better, suffer less transplant shock and grow faster than larger ones.

Landscape design questions
When is the best time to plant?
Rutgers notes that fall planting gives most trees and shrubs an extra growing season to settle in. Spring planting works too with regular watering.
Can you plan the planting with a new patio?
Yes. We plan beds, shrubs, trees and edging with the stonework so the whole yard fits together.
Can you take out old, overgrown shrubs first?
Yes. Old shrubs and tired beds come out before the new planting goes in.
Can you look after the beds afterwards?
Yes. We mulch, do spring and fall cleanups and look after the lawn.
